Raising understanding and awareness of menopause in your business - why this really does matter!

The wide range of symptoms experienced by peri/menopausal women can bring implications for attendance, timekeeping, attitude and performance. In not being a menopause-supportive employer you are at risk of increased employee disputes possibly leading to litigation, due to a lack of awareness across employees, insufficient support and inappropriate handling of the problems of colleagues who may be struggling with menopause-associated health issues.

What people are saying

Why menopause matters in organisations

I feel strongly that "best in class" organisations are those that want to retain and attract the most talented employees. The impact of menopause is not just felt by middle age women, it can also affect partners, family members, work colleagues and employers. I can help your organisation and your employees understand and be supportive of anyone who may be struggling with their menopause or someone else's.

Common questions

  • UK companies currently employ over 9.5 million women who are of perimenopause or menopausal age, so it's likely that your organisation will have female employees who are in this phase of life and may need support from you their employers and their work colleagues.

  • I work with any size of business in any industry sector, irrespective of the point that they have reached in the implementation of their employee Health and Wellbeing (including menopause) policies.

  • Pretty much everyone will have either a wife, partner, mum, sister, female relative or colleague, who may be struggling with menopause symptoms. For many women the symptoms they experience can impact upon all aspects of their lives, including relationships with partners, husbands, family members and fellow employees. So it is really important to raise awareness amongst men of the potential impact that the menopause can have.

  • It is entirely down to the client's preference. If a client has multiple locations or home workers then remote sessions using Zoom or Teams can be offered, however experience has shown that with a subject like menopause, delegates do seem to engage more with in person sessions.

  • Whilst I can work in collaboration with an existing HR team, if you are the founder or owner manager of a small or medium size business I can also work with you or a member of your management team to ensure appropriate messaging and content are delivered to your staff.

  • We will have an initial call where we will talk through your organisation, employee demographics, current EDI, health and wellbeing policies and strategies and any menopause related issues or experiences within your existing workforce. Together we will determine the number of sessions and relevant content based upon your aims and intended audiences.

  • Once a date has been booked and the session content outline approved, at least two weeks in advance of the session date you will receive a first draft of the powerpoint slides for review and approval. If any changes are required we will agree what they are and an amended copy for approval will be sent. Once the slides are finalised within two days of the session date you will receive an electronic copy for distribution amongst the attendees. All materials are copyrighted to Menopause the Wright Way with permitted use and distribution within the organisation. Additional reference materials will be provided where agreed in advance for distribution at the session or electronically after the sessions have been delivered.
